Etsy :: HelixDesign :: The Hand Painted Lamp Shade

Hi Everyone - It has been a while...I have been so busy!

Late September I displayed my  art from both of my original Etsy Shops (Babdoyan & Bajidoo) at the "Fall in Love with Handmade" craft show in Orlando, FL.  I was very pleased with the outcome of that show...even though it was incredibly hot!  I got sun burn that day.

Then I have been painting and drawing like crazy, getting ready for the Grand opening of "Twist of my Wrist" Bangle Boutique in West Palm Beach Florida...Where I have agree to work with Mr. John Bandy (Boutique Owner and Entrepreneur).  I will be sending 6 to 7  of my bangles to West Palm Beach for that event.

Finally I open yet a third shop on Etsy for my hand painted Lampshades, the Shop is named "HelixDesign"... Here are a few of the shades displayed there:

Golden Peacock NO2a This is the Golden Peacock, No2

Number 2 because the original Golden Peacock (a slightly different design) sold some months back.

This is a shade I named Victorian Fossil  the stylized fern reminded me of the fossil images you often see in the museum gift shops.

Then I decided to add a bit more glitz and flair using Mosaic tiles along with my paintings and I came up with "Daisies at High Tea"

I guess I had the bug to paint shades cause I kept on going...I love Dragon Flys...so I have to create a shade with dragon flys and Dandelions...Here it is:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After Dragon Flys who can resist Ladybugs?

So I designed  a little bedside table shade with a version of my "Leafy Green Lady Bug" painting on it:

To See the entire Lampshade Collection ---CLick on any of th pictures above or the link posted below.  Thanks for stopping by "Under the Compass Moon"...which Ironically was the name of my very first lampshade design.  Regards, Brenda.

due to the wonders of google, I discovered your art, andthen this site, and I must say, I am in
awe of what you create! I too am a mixed media artist. Well, my blog
bio is "I am an artist, performer, musician, foodie, creator, and
life-lover on a beautiful detour after at age 18, a sudden blood clot
caused me to fall into a coma for months. Piecing together my life
after my initial dreams of performing musical theatre took a turn into
broader horizons. I believe it is my mission to spread messages of
hope and strength while doing what I love to do, which is CREATE. Art,
Music, Theatre, Writing - the world is full of everyday miracles and
beautiful detours..." - After 27 surgeries, I must say that art has
been the best medicine and means for self-discovery/recovery and
healing.
Anyway, I am so inspired by your creations! I hope you don't mind but
I featured you in my blog post today - linking to this site and
crediting you of course - and I just want to make sure that is okay
